A long tradition.....

The word ‘yoga’ means ‘to unify’ or facilitate ‘oneness’, derived from the Sanskrit work ‘yuj’ which means ‘to join’. Yoga has been practiced for 5,000 years or so, originating in India. The philosophy, traditions and many practices were passed down through the generations in a variety of guises, coming to the West in the 1800s and giving rise to many schools and lineages over the past 100+ years. There is a saying 'there are many routes to the top of the mountain, but the view remains the same'.

Krishnamacharya (the father of modern yoga) said: 'Master your breath, let the self be in bliss, contemplate on the sublime within you'.

Yoga helps us to get back to our natural rhythm whilst building strength and increasing flexibility, adaptability

and mobility, in mind, body & spirit

Yoga is a natural way to reduce stress and fully relax
